All natural brain food 10 year olds needs for school

Young children need energy to be able to play and do their day to day activities. As classes begin they require more to be able to physically and mentally excel in school. As parents we can better equip them by providing food that will boost their brain power. It makes their mind sharper to be able to solve math problems, participate in class discussions, and understand concepts.

These are the natural foods that help your kid be the best in class.

  • Oatmeal: Oatmeal is rich in protein and fiber helps keep the heart and arteries clear of blockages. In a study children who ate oatmeal performed better on memory tasks compared to children who ate cereal.

  • Apples: For an energy boost kids usually look for sweets. They are easy to prepare and contain the antioxidant quercetin that fights the decline in mental ability.

  • Beans: Beans provide foliate and vitamin B which enhance brain power and lower harmful levels of amino acids

  • Avocado: Avocados contain healthy fats called monounsaturated fats. These boost brain power by increasing blood flow to the brain and improve brain health by lowering blood pressure.

  • Pumpkin seeds: Pumpkin seeds are a great source of zinc which enhance memory and thinking skills.

  • Greens: Leafy green vegetables such as Jute (Saluyot), Kangkong, Cabbage, Sweetfern, Horseradish Tree (Malunggay), Sweet Potato Leaf (Kamote Tops), Cassava Leaves, and Taro Leaves are filled with folate, flavonoids, carotenoids, L-tyrosine, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K1. These boost brain performance by modulating neurotransmitters, increase focus, improve short-term memory, and reduce the risk of anxiety and depression. A study showed increased cognitive scores of children with adequate folate intake compared to those who did not. Carotenoids boost and preserve cognitive function.

  • Cocoa: Cocoa products such as cacao nibs, are one of the most concentrated sources of flavonoid antioxidants. These are known to be anti-inflammatory, improve visual processing, increase blood flow, and protect the brain.

  • Oranges: Oranges are rich in flavonoid, which help increase nerve activity, brain development, neurotransmitter production, and blood flow to the brain. These boost cognitive function in tasks such as focus, working memory, attention, recall, decision speed, and recognition.

  • Nuts and seeds: Nuts and seeds are filled with essential fatty acids, vitamin E zinc, folate, iron, and protein. These are known to boost mood, regulate the nervous system, and improve brain function.

  • PPARS: Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptors (PPARS) contain a 100% Natural “Green Superfood” sourced from micro-algae known as the plant-based natural “nutritional giants”. These contain rich vitamins, vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, proteins, essential fatty acids and phytonutrients. One key ingredient is Resveratrol from grape polyphenols that are proven powerful antioxidants. *Edited by Rez Maninang
